            Botanical Garden

         The Botanical Garden is one of the famous sightseeing spots in Ooty. This Fifty-five hectare garden lies on the lower slopes of the Doddabetta peak, close to the city centre. In the 1840’s, the Marquis of Tweedale designed the initial layout of the Garden. Under the guidance of the architect, William Graham McIvor, this Garden was completed by 1848. The Raj Bhavan and a school, Hebron are located within the premises of the Garden.

  ROSE GARDEN

Awarded as the "Garden of Excellence" by World Federation of Rose Societies, Rose Garden is one of the largest rose gardens in India. Located on the Elk Hill in Vijayanagaram of Ooty, the garden is a wonderland for nature lovers. You can have an enthralling view of more than 20,000 varieties of roses, collected from different parts of the world.

Ooty Lake is an artificially constructed lake with picturesque natural surroundings. Originally constructed for the purpose of fishing, the lake has become all but an important tourist landmark in Ooty. An evening cycling around the lake ,or a quiet morning with your beloved by your side and the lake in front is enough to bring calm to yourself.





Dodabetta Peak

Dodabetta, literally translating to mean - Big Peak, is located approximately 10 km away from Ooty. It towers to a staggering height of 8650 feet or 2,623 meters above the sea level and is the highest peak in the Nilgiri Hills. A treat to the eyes, this picturesque land is indeed a great sightseeing place. Dodabetta is one of the most preferred places to visit in Ooty and is also a popular trekking destination. The summit offers an astounding view of the nearby areas which are covered with dense forests and, on clear days, one can see as far as Mysore (Mysore is a city in the southern part of the state of Karnataka).

A part of Nilgiri Mountain Railway, Ooty Toy Train is a an integral part of every Ooty Tour. It runs from Mettupalayam to Ooty via Coonoor (place). The ride in this historical toy Train is unmatched to any other train ride; passing through lush green landscapes and breathtaking nilgiri mountains, this train runs on a track of 46 km.
